Relationship Expands with Involvement in Grand Prix of Portland
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 26, 2018) – A fourth Green Savoree Racing Promotions’ subsidiary has been proudly added to the growing relationship between the company and Cooper Tires, which will now support the Grand Prix of Portland, set for Aug. 31-Sept. 2.
In addition to this new event at Portland International Raceway, Cooper Tires has extended the agreement which began in 2016 to continue its support of the Honda Indy Toronto, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School. Cooper Tires has been integral in bringing unique fan activities to these events and is the official tire of The Mid-Ohio School’s renowned driving programs.
“Cooper Tires has had great success in working with Green Savoree Racing Promotions to connect with both race fans and up-and-coming drivers through our sponsorship of Honda Indy Toronto, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School,” said Chris Pantani, Director of Motorsports for Cooper Tire. “We are excited to expand our sponsorship to the new Grand Prix of Portland, which provides another great opportunity to showcase what Cooper Tires have to offer both on and off the track.”
As a natural extension of Cooper Tires support, all three levels of the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires – the world’s most effective open-wheel development ladder series – are featured at all four of Green Savoree’s Verizon IndyCar Series racing events. With the addition of the Grand Prix of Portland this year, Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda will all race on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
”It is an honor to work with the team at Cooper Tires. They help us elevate the event experience for our race fans and festival-goers across our properties,” said Kevin Savoree, president and chief operating officer of Green Savoree Racing Promotions. “From supporting our Rookie Racers program launched last year, giving the youngest race fans an exclusive locker room type experience at the race track, to helping us deliver world-class driving programs on its innovative, high performance tire technology at Mid-Ohio, Cooper Tires support has been tremendous.”
In addition to the Grand Prix of Portland, the upcoming Verizon IndyCar events owned and operated by Green Savoree Racing Promotions’ subsidiaries are Honda Indy Toronto (July 13-15, 2018), The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio (July 27-29, 2018), and Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (March 8-10, 2019).
