Free Community Party in the Park and Grand Prix Run Fueled by BODYARMOR kick off the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland event weekend late afternoon tomorrow
PORTLAND, Ore. (August 5, 2026) – The NTT INDYCAR SERIES, featuring the stars and cars of the Indianapolis 500, returns to Portland International Raceway (PIR) this weekend, Aug. 7-9, 2026, for the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland. This spectacular event starts tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. PT with a free Community Park In The Park followed by the Grand Prix Run or Walk Fueled by BODYARMOR beginning at 6:30 p.m. PT.
The annual INDYCAR stop, Round 13 of 18 on the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ schedule, will mark the 32nd open-wheel race at PIR. Stock car racing returns as part of the weekend schedule, with NASCAR’s ARCA Menards Series West race happening as the Saturday (Aug. 8) headliner following INDYCAR qualifying. Additional races featured include INDY NXT by Firestone and doubleheader races from USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire and USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire.
Back-to-back Portland INDYCAR winner Will Power will look to break the record for most wins at Portland International Raceway. Power, Al Unser, Jr. and Michael Andretti are tied as the winningest drivers in Portland with three wins each.
Alex Palou, current NTT INDYCAR SERIES points leader by 83 points and four-time series champion, will again be one of the favorites at PIR. Palou, pilot of the No. 10 DHL Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing, tallied victories at PIR in 2021 and 2023, while clinching the INDYCAR championship from his PIR performances in 2023 and 2025.
“The weather is looking fantastic for the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland race weekend!” said Jerry Jensen, general manager of Green Savoree Portland, LLC, which owns and operates the event at PIR. “We hope Portlanders and race fans will join us at PIR tomorrow afternoon and evening for the free Community Party in the Park and sign up for the walk or run event to support a great cause with proceeds from this new event going to the Sunshine Division.”
The free Community Park in the Park from 5:30 - 8 p.m. PT at PIR includes race cars on display, autographs with some of the drivers competing this weekend, live music from Jacob Westfall, food trucks and more.
Also happening tomorrow, runners and walkers will both experience the rare thrill of traversing the 1.964-mile, 12-turn permanent road course just before the NTT INDYCAR SERIES takes on PIR for its annual stop in the Pacific Northwest culminating with Sunday’s 110-lap OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland. The Grand Prix Run Fueled by BODYARMOR scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PT, begins and concludes on the raceway’s renowned start/finish line.
Each registration to the Grand Prix Run Fueled by BODYARMOR costs $40 and includes two complimentary Friday General Admission tickets to the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland, a participation t-shirt and a commemorative running bib. Proceeds benefit Sunshine Division, a local nonprofit that has provided essential food assistance to Portland area residents for over a century. Learn more at sunshinedivision.org. Ticket prices start as low as $25 for Single Day General Admission and $70 for Single Day Grandstand seats. Three-day tickets remain available for purchase and offer the best fan value. General Admission for the entire weekend is just $85, and a 3-Day Grandstand reserved seat starts at $90 which includes gate admission.
